2019 Top 10 Nigerian music artist list.

Music as the year gradually draws its curtains, individuals and organizations are currently rounding off business while also accessing how they’ve performed during the year. 

It’s been a very historic and remarkable year for Nigerian music industry as it was filled with a lot of major wins and a few set backs here and there. This year, Nigerian music stamped itself gallantly on the global stage. after careful analysis and consideration we bring to you the 2019 Top 10 Nigerian music artist whose music filled our ears with joy and made our body wiggle. 


The young Female singer and songwriter sang her way into everyone’s heart with her inspirational anthem titled: “Uyo Meyo”.

The song which was sang in her Ondo local dialect talks about how she is happy for her neighbours success because hers is definitely going to come too.

To us, she ended the year on a good note with the release of her first body of work, a four track Extended Play, titled: “Billionaire”. For this reason, she occupies the number 10 spot.

9.Tiwa Savage

Mama Jam Jam as she loves to be called, made a major move this year in May by signing a record deal with international record label, Universal Music Group after her exit from Don Jazzy’s led Mavins Record. This deal according to made her the first African Artist to sign with the record company.

Also, she broke the record of becoming the first female brand ambassador of Nigerian beverage drink, Star. Our number 9 artist, therefore, goes to Tiwa Savage. 

8.Mr Eazi

Aside been our number 8 top artist of 2019, Mr. Eazi is currently the king of Digital streams as  his understanding of the market has not just earned him millions of stream also artist who are signed under his Empawa foundation gain from this knowledge as their musics are also doing numbers.

This year has been a year of quality music roll out for him, from featuring Simi to most recently, Tyga, Mr. Eazi seems to be taking it Eazi has gaining major success.


Like father, like son, is the story of Joeboy who happens to be one of the beneficiary of our number 8 artist’s foundation – Empawa.  Coming off the success of his first single: “Baby” with a great follow up single titled: “Beginning” and then finally sealing it off with a four track Extended play, titled: Love & Light. This is a well deserved spot for the AFRIMA award winner.   

6.   Rema 

Like a thief in the night, his arrival into the music game was never expected. From the go till the present moment brain busting movings is all he has been doing all thanks to the leadership of Nigerian music producer, Don Jazzy whose wealth of expertise in the game was brought to the table.

We should not forget to give kudos to D’Prince, the man who discovered this young diamond in the mud.

He made this list for one and many reason but for majorly appearing on former American President, Obama 2019 Summer playlist. 

5.   Zlatan 

“Gbe body e”, when you hear that you know what to do. All the way from Ikorodu to getting nominated for a Grammy courtesy of a feature on Burna’s Boy album, Zlatan has proven that joy can be derived when listening to street music.

The young Nigerian rapper ensured that Nigerians never got tired of dancing by consistently churning out hits back to back. 

4.  Wizkid 

Aside his sold out show at the 02 arena, London, England this year has been more of a “take it cool” year for Starboy. His achievements this year is worth giving a salute as he made trends and also broke records. “Machala” as he fondly called by his inner circle is here to stay for a long time. Like his recent tweet says: “it’s till June”.

3.   Davido

Everything happening to this young father of three is what he describes as: “A Good Time” in a 17 track body of work featuring Summer Walker, Gunna, Chris Brown amongst other great singers in the industry. This year if one begins to write about all the good times he has this year we might eventually still have to write: “To Be Continued”. 

2.Naira Marley

The Nigerian Government thought they were ruining and destroying the rappers career by arresting him on an alleged credit fraud rather they built a tribe for him which he called: “Marlians”.

Since his arrest and court proceedings the singer has still continued to find a way to record and release new music the whole Marlian nation listens to. 

1.Burna Boy

Simply put, he tops this list because he is a Grammy nominated artist. No one in Africa can beat that.
