Two Man Utd signings

The Manchester United players are expecting two arrivals in the January transfer window, reports have claimed.

According to Goal, the Manchester United squad are of the belief that two new signings will be joining in the New Year.

The reports would suggest the Red Devils players are aware that they’re currently playing for their places.

Man United are believed to have made Erling Braut Haaland and Jadon Sancho their top transfer targets ahead of the window, which opens on January 1.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on bringing in some new faces to help the club close the gap on the rest of the top four.

Mikel Arteta first signing

Mikel Arteta could make Sevilla teenager Antonio Zarzana his first signing as Arsenal boss next month, according to reports.

Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo report that the 17-year-old has been the subject of enquiries from the Gunners.

He turned down a Real Madrid last term and has also attracted scouts from Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

Zarzana is however determined to play for Sevilla’s first team, having rejected the lure of Real Madrid in order to fulfil his dream.

United’s Paul Pogba message

Manchester United are adamant that demands over the future of Paul Pogba will not be made as part of transfer negotiations for Erling Haaland.

The two players share the same agent in Mino Raiola, a figure who has endured a turbulent relationship with the club over time.

Yet United are hoping that he will be able to help them tie up a deal for Haaland, who has fired in 28 goals this season in all competitions for Red Bull Salzburg.

Despite the optimism they can secure the signing of the teenage sensation, the Evening Standard claim that United have made one thing clear to Raiola.

The report states that they will not speak about Pogba during negotiations for Haaland.

There have been some suggestions that Raiola could look to move Pogba on from Old Trafford in return for advising Haaland to join United.

Christian Eriksen contract

Jose Mourinho would like Manchester United-linked Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen to sign a new contract.

The Dane’s current Spurs deal expires in six months but Mourinho is keen for him to stay, despite links to United and Real Madrid.

“Do I want Eriksen to sign as well? The only thing I will tell you about Christian is that I would like him to sign a new contract,” the Portuguese said.

“Apart from that I’m not going to tell you anything.”

His comments come after Eriksen’s team-mate Toby Alderweireld, whose deal was also set to run out at the end of the season, signed an extension this week.

Haaland to United

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer yesterday shut down speculation that Erling Braut Haaland is imminently set to join Manchester United.

There were suggestions from Norway that Haaland had boarded a flight headed to Manchester on Friday morning.

But Solskjaer told journalists that he knows the teenage striker, tipped to join the Red Devils from Red Bull Salzburg next month, is instead away on holiday while the Austrian league enjoys a winter break.

He said: “I don’t think he’s en route here, to be fair, not through me anyway. I can’t comment on other teams’ players, I’ve said that many times.

“That’s just one of those things in this job – you get so many speculations all the time.

“He is not coming to Manchester because… well, I know the boy and I know his friends and all this. He’s on a Christmas holiday.

“You can’t fly anywhere from Stavanger, can you, so you need to go via via!

Liverpool are set to join the race to sign Super Eagles and Lille of France striker, Victor Osimhen, during the January transfer window.
